Does HH Coder have experience with my EMR?
We have coders all over the country with an array of experience in different EMRs. More than likely we have experience with your EMR and we always try to assign your charts to coders with previous experience in your EMR.
What if we use a unique EMR that you do not have experience with?
We will have one of our coding managers reach out to you for any special instructions / training so that we can properly code your charts.
Do you provide a Business Associate Agreement?
Yes. A signed Business Associate Agreement will be provided after you provide us with the necessary information gathered during the automated sign-up process.
What if our agency has an agency-specific Business Associate Agreement?
Please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org or utilize our chat-box in the bottom right of our website to send this for our review. After having our legal team review your agency-specific BAA, we will sign and send it back to you, as well as upload it into our platform under your profile.
What if we want to use your service as our permanent coding solution?
Of course we will be happy to be your permanent full-time coding solution. There are many great advantages for utilizing us as your one-stop coding solution. Such as:
Utilize our large base of qualified, certified coders, so you do not have to worry about downtimes for vactations, sick-time, census increase, etc.
Highly trained staff, if one of our coders finds the chart too complex, they are encouraged to pass it on to a coder more experienced with that chart setup
Free priority coding. Your charts will stay at the top of our queue system
Personal case manager
Communicate with us if you would like for us to auto-enter your charts into our system as they come in to your EMR. Of course you can still handle this youself, but we want to make the process as seemless and simple as possible for you.
How do I know the coder assigned my charts is qualified?
All of our coders are held to the following standards:
Acquired and maintained a Home Health Coding Certification. HCS-D and or BCHH-C
Possess a medical background (RN, LVN, PT, etc.). We have found that coders that have a wider range of knowledge in the field do a much better job
Have coded in a Home Health setting for a minimum of two years. Most of our coders have far more experience than this, but this is the minimum threshold our coders must meet to apply for a coding position. We find intricate knowledge of the OASIS as well as a familiarity with medicare guidelines is a must and can only be acquired through past experience
Pass an HH Coder designed coding exam. This is done as an extra level of assurance to our team at HH Coder; we make all aplicants pass a timed coding exam that we specifically created
Demonstrate profound computer literacy. Navigating different EMR's can be tough and it is vital that our coders can find the relevant information in order to code you charts as accurately as possible
